The clarinet quartet ”Claribel” will soon start its Australian tournee, performing also during Kosciuszko Festival in Jindabyne and on Mt Kosciuszko (23rd February). Clarinet was formed by four Lublin musicians who after their graduation from Academies of Music in Gdańsk, Wrocław, Bydgoszcz and Warsaw returned to their city. Members of the group are active both as performers at concerts of the Lublin Philharmonic, and as teachers in Lublin's music schools.
The group's repertoire includes both pieces composed especially for clarinet quartet, such as Wakefield's ”Cassing Around”, Harvey's ”Quartet”, Wilson's ”Four Ebony” and Carter's ”Canonic Suite”, and arrangements of classical music by e.g. Haendel, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Dworzak, Debussy, Czajkowski, Prokofiew, Paganini, Farkas, Strauss, Bizet, Grieg, Bernstein and others.
Arrangements of popular music by composers such as: D. Ellington, G. Gershwin, I. Berlin, C. Jobim, S. Joplin, A. Piazzola, W. C. Handy, H. Mancini, G. Jenkins, McCarty or P. Nagle, are another category of compositions performed by the group.
