Tony Maka - KAP NSW Senate Candidate
Tony M±ka

My name is Anthony Stanislaw Maka and I was born in Sydney in 1978. My parent’s families travelled to Australia seeking a better life, to a place then known as “the land of milk and honey”. My father, born in Germany in a displaced persons camp to parents who endured World War Two and survived time in labour and prisoner of war camps. My mother’s parents, also victims of World War Two, were left after the Soviet Invasion of Eastern Europe and moved into a displaced persons camp. They migrated to Australia and my mother was born in the Greta Migrant camp in NSW. My family worked hard to become Australians. Dad is now a successful accountant and Mum has been a primary school principal for 20 years. My younger sister is a physiotherapist.

My school life began at the local catholic primary, followed by De La Salle College Bankstown, then years 11 and 12 at Saint Patricks College Strathfield. Then I undertook study for a combined law/social science degree at the University of Western Sydney.

Leaving University, I tried my hand at hospitality, real estate and then project management in the construction industry. Now I am successful in a fleet/government sales role for a major national 4wd accessories manufacturer/distributor and I sell to all levels of Government and Automotive Dealers. This role affords me a great opportunity to network with a broad spectrum of concerned citizens and influential community leaders around the state of NSW.

Bob and Tony

I am married with 4 children under the age of 10 and a 5th on the way. My wife is a “stay at home mum”. Like most families these days, we find it hard to make ends meet to cover the rising costs of electricity, gas, water, groceries, school fees and the other needs of a growing family.

I am annoyed that so many of our elected representatives do not walk the same path we do. I ask myself why? I always believed that our Australian federal parliament was the house of the people. Our elected representatives are supposed to address and solve the problems of all Australians, not just the big end of town. This is not happening!

I have decided to stand up and be a voice for the real people I know in my community and my workplace. Looking hard at our political leaders and it seems their parties are more concerned about being re-elected than for the good of the country.

Wedding Day

I read Katter’s Australian Party’s Core Values and Principals and I decided this is a party formed to be a voice for real hard working average Australian. The principles include maintaining an Australia founded on Christian values and a responsibility to one’s fellow man. A government accountable to the Australian people that maintains and advances economic growth, employment, equitable distribution of income, rising living standards, prosperity, opportunity and equality of access to such opportunity for all. A government that ensures freedom of speech and expression, which should not be abused by intimidation, malice, violence or wilful intolerance. A government that promotes equality of opportunity and equality before the law. A government that supports social cohesion and acceptance of personal responsibility and accountability. A government that supports those in genuine need while that need exists.

Family Mothers Day

Natalia's third birthday

These ideas gave me the conviction to join Katter’s Australian Party.

I am determined to promote this party so that we can get enough KAP candidates into the House of Representatives and into the Senate to get Australia back to work. I believe we can again live in the land of opportunity, as it was when my family migrated here.

I am standing in the coming federal election for a position in the senate with Katter’s Australian Party, to give the people of NSW an opportunity to vote for one of their own. As a fledgling political party, we do not have the vast campaign funding resources available like the major parties do. All donations in cash or kind to help us promote our campaign will be very welcome.
