KUJAWY. The ensemble Kujawy take their name from a region in Poland known as Kujawy. Its’ three main cities are Bydgoszcz, Torun and Włocławek. The dance ensemble was formed 30 years ago. Currently there are 65 members in the ensemble ranging from 4 years of age onwards.
The ensemble has developed a highly varied and acclaimed repertoire, thanks to the artistic direction of teachers and choreographers Marek and Wieslawa Wojnicz (former members of the Polish State Dance Ensemble ‘Slask’). The ensemble has many beautiful dances from many regions of Poland.

Kujawy have performed at all POLART festivals since inception. In 1987 they represented Australia in the World Festival of Dances in Spain and Majorca. In 1991 and 2001 some of the members went to Poland to perform at the 11th and then 12th International Folkloric Festival held in Rzeszow, Poland. Christmas 2005 the ensemble went for a holiday to New Zealand for 13 days. While in Wellington they gave a 2 ½ hour concert at the 'Te Wha Nee' theatre.
Over Christmas 2006, Kujawy attended the POLART Festival held in Hobart, Tasmania.
The group travelled to Poland in July 2008 to perform at the 14th International Folkloric Festival held in Rzeszow, Poland. Not only did the group perform in Rzeszow but also performed in Slupsk, Ustka and Wloclawek. In 2009 the group has performed at many concerts including Eurofest at Frenchs Forest and will be performing at the Oktoberfest and Polish Christmas at Darling Harbour in December before their departure to the POLART 2009 festival held in Adelaide.
The current president is Mrs Jolanta Zurawska and vice-president is Mrs Zosia Cyganiuk, who are assisted by a very strong and capable committee and also very willing and helpful parents.

LAJKONIK.Polish Song and Dance Ensemble Lajkonik is based in the Sydney Western Region, and at present comprises 30 performers. Next year, the Ensemble is proud to celebrate its 20-year Anniversary, having been established in 1990. The Ensemble has performed at numerous Festivals in 6 States of Australia and 5 consecutive times in Poland at a Major International Festival in Rzeszow where Ensembles from all around the world meet every three years.
Lajkonik is the ONLY dance Ensemble in history to have performed at the summit of Australia's highest mountain, Mt Kosciuszko. Next year, after participating in the Polish Festival - Polart, in Adelaide, the Ensemble will be undertaking an intensive performance schedule and invites you to follow its performances in Canberra, Jindabyne, Dubbo, Central QLD, and Melbourne.
ILINDEN. The Macedonian Cultural and Artistic Association 'Ilinden' is a young dynamic dance ensemble that exhibits Macedonian culture, tradition and folklore through song and dance. Ilinden has been around for over 40 years working together with the Macedonian Orthodox Church St Petka and over the last decade has participated in numerous festivals, nation-wide and international tours including two successful tours to Macedonia in 2005 and 2008.
Previous competition success includes three time winners of the McDonalds Performing Arts Challenge in 2002, 2004 and 2006 and also winners of the International Theatre and Dance Championships 2009 in the World Dance category. Their dances are inspired from every region in Macedonia and showcase an eclectic mix of music and choreography from each region.
