| My name is ANNIKA GLAC, I was born in Poland and now live in Melbourne and have recently Written/ Directed a feature film called BELLADONNA which has just screened at the CANNES film festival and which is the first Co-Production between Australia and Poland. The film is shot in Melbourne and in Sanok, Poland. We will be releasing the film in Cinemas in the middle of NOVEMBER at Cinema Como and Kino here in Melbourne. About myself and our "Glass Kingdom" Writing about myself has always been an interesting challenge simply because words quantify and narrow the intent and the vastness of each experience. These experiences come in many shapes and sizes, from hiring a unit manager to attending a major film festival, or wondering how to resolve the protagonist journey. Creating stories through the form of theatre and film has been my passion and ever since I can remember I have been interested in the ‘whys’, why do people behave in certain ways? what motivates our decision? and why are we here? Even now I have to stop myself from stairing at people in the supermarket.
So, I studied at the Victorian College of the arts majoring in classical piano and then shifted the focus from Bach and Chopin to Pina Bausch and Fellini. After writing and directing numerous theatre works I began to direct films. Writing and directing is thrilling and deeply satisfying and the producing invigorates the entrepreneur in me. Our Production company was born out of a deep desire to bring super talented people together and to create work that explored the our humanness. So far we have done just that, created partnerships here and in Europe working in collaboration both in production and post production. We can’t wait to unleash our future project and to keep finding like minded visionaries to change the world with.
