Snow daisy, KNP | Celebrate World Parks Day in Kosciuszko this Saturday! Entry to Kosciuszko National Park (KNP) will be free this World Parks Day, September 17, with great events planned including a sausage sizzle at Sawpit Creek, tours of the Kiandra Courthouse and a chance to explore Yarrangobilly Caves. National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) Manager of Visitor and Business Services, Andrew Harrigan, said everyone was welcome to join in the fun.
“Spring is one of the most beautiful times to visit KNP and this Saturday, September 17, free park entry and a number of interesting events aim to make it even more attractive. “World Parks Day" is an opportunity for everyone to celebrate our precious green spaces and where better to celebrate this year than in one of Australia’s best known and most loved parks, Kosciuszko. “This year we have designed a number of events to help our visitors explore the rich history of the region, with specially designed tours and kit bags. “Come and enjoy a tour of Yarrangobilly Caves House, our on-park accommodation in a converted historic homestead built in 1901,” - Mr Harrigan said.
KNP is one of the world's great national parks and the largest in New South Wales, covering 690,000 hectares. For more information about KNP
