PolArt Working Groups: Within the last month, the PolArt working groups have been working hard. These thematic
groups work independently with help and support from the PolArt 2012 Perth Committee on
different aspects of the Festival. There are seven working groups that have been established.
A list of some of the working groups is provided below as well as an update as to their work
over the last months:
1. Film Group The film group is responsible for coordinating the PolArt film program, from finalizing the venues
to the film genres and titles. The film group has put together a draft proposal to the Committee
on their thoughts and ideas and are now working closely with the Committee and the PolArt
event manager to finalize all aspects of the program.
2. Theatre Group The theatre working group is led by Fr Tomasz Bujakowski, director of the Polish Youth Theatre
Group, Scena ‘98. Father Tomasz has prepared and toured with Scena ‘98 to several PolArt
Festivals in the past. At the moment, three theatre groups have expressed interest in
participating at PolArt 2012 Perth. Details of the productions are currently being determined.
3. Dance Group Mr Henry Kurylewski will oversee the dance program. Along with his team, Mr Henry will coordinate
the whole dance program for all groups taking part in PolArt. Mr Henry has undertaken
this task for many previous PolArts so he comes to us with a lot of knowledge and experience.
Henry is due to visit Perth in early 2012 to further discuss and arrange the proceeding for the
dance program for PolArt 2012 Perth.
4. Logistics Group A small logistics group has been set up recently to ensure all the details of the festival are
covered. The logistics group will look after the coordination of transport for participants, social
events for participants, merchandise and volunteers. The group is currently focused on finalizing
the New Year’s Eve ball.
5. Marketing Group The Marketing group is responsible for all publicity and advertising for PolArt. It will develop
community awareness to ensure that as many people as possible are well informed about the
PolArt 2012 Perth program. Currently the group is working on developing a strong database of
media contacts and potential Festival attendees as well as providing support to the Committee
in creating sponsorship packages.
5. Fundraising Group The Fundraising team is responsible for all preparation and execution of fundraising events,
sponsorships and grants. The group is currently devising a comprehensive fundraising plan that
will start to be executed from the early stages of 2012.
6. Literature and Visual Arts Group A draft plan for these two events has now been developed, with support from the Polish
Australian Cultural Society. These two Festival events will make use of some of Perth’s unique
outdoor spaces, with innovative ideas to ensure as many people are engaged as possible.
We are on the look out for passionate and dedicated individuals to make the Literature and
Visual Arts aspects of the Festival come alive.
