Jezioro obok jeziora

O ulewach w tym regionie ABC News podaje: “The Jindabyne Dam in the Snowy Mountains began spilling for the first time over the weekend and authorities say they are monitoring the situation in case downstream communities are threatened.”

W dniu 6 marca 2012 Carole Thomas, Snowy River Echo, prostuje powyzsza informacje podana przez ABC:

The report re water release from the Jindabyne dam was incorrect - We received this media release today.

Based on current inflows and weather forecasts, Lake Jindabyne will reach full capacity and spill into the Snowy River as early as this Wednesday afternoon (7th March 2012)

Once full storage level is reached, the radial gates on Jindabyne Dam will open gradually, releasing water into the Snowy River and adjusting the dam water level.

It is expected that Lake Jindabyne may go on and off spill over coming weeks and that the lake level will remain at current levels until after winter unless environmental flows are brought forward.

Snowy Hydro advises that there is no public access to the Jindabyne Dam site at this time in the interests of safety.

Snowy Hydro will continue to provide regular updates of Scheme inflows and Jindabyne Dam spill estimates to the Bureau of Meteorology for their flood forecasting purposes in order for the NSW SES to advise and coordinate flood alerts to residents and communities downstream of Jindabyne Dam.

Hi, Ernestyna, yesterday and this morning, the shared path was covered in water all the way from the Bowling Club to Strzelecki statue!
They started releasing water around lunch time

Hope you are getting better every day!

On the 13th of March 2012 we got the following update from Carole Thomas.

Hi, Ernestyna – you may want to call it Strzelecki Marina Jindabyne!

The lake level should stay pretty much to above 98% until probably September, according to the latest info from Snowy Hydro! Which means the statue will be circled with water for a while – a very pretty sight!

How are you! Hopping already around at home?? Hope you’re well

Cheers

Carole
