| Nasz przyjaciel Felix Molski, autor wielu reportaży w Pulsie Polonii, a także wydanej ostatnio monografii "The best of human nature - Strzelecki's humanitarian work in Ireland" wyruszył niedawno w kolejną wielką podróż swego życia. Naczelnym tematem, jaki zawsze tropi na wszystkich kontynentach jest "Liberty". Tym razem Felix rozpoczął swą podróż do Chicago, gdzie spotkał się z redaktorem naczelnym miesięcznika Irish American News, Cliffem Carlsonem. Trwają ustalenia w sprawie równoległej promocji monografii Strzeleckiego w Australii i USA.
W Chicago Felix został też po królewsku przyjęty przez prof. Lidię Filus z Fundacji Kościuszkowskiej oraz Basię i Wojciecha Niewrzoł z Orkiestry Paderewskiego - czyli osobami, które w lutym ub. r. były gośćmi festiwalu "K'Ozzie Fiesta" . I was hosted regally by Lidia and Barbara and Wojciech in
Chicago. When I notified Lidia that I was planning this trip a few months ago, she asked if I wanted her to arrange some visits. I did not respond because for the ten days I planned to be in Chicago I had already worked out a very hectic schedule. It involved daily drives of 5hours to destination, seeing what I wanted to see and then 5 hours back. I had left only one spare day to recover at the end.
Evenings I thought
I would be too tired to do anything. Furthermore I didn't think
I was any sort of notable person for such arrangements to be
organised. Attached is a photo after a talk at PMA given by the author of "No Greater Ally".

Lidia went ahead anyway and arranged interviews for me with
Polish Radio, Polish TV and Polish Daily News! I have had no
previous experience with this. The Polish radio interview was
live and in Polish, to my surprise I spoke in Polish OK, much
better than I thought I could possibly do. However, my experience is
in the format of the written word - not the spoken word, and
since I know the topic of PES humanitarian work in Ireland in
great detail, my answers were being too long winded. I would
start a detailed answer and the interviewer moved on to another
question. I realise now they deal in sound bytes. I was not
able to communicate any of the ideas I thought were important.
For the Polish TV interview (in English and not live) I thought I would fix things
by starting straight away on the important stuff and did a 15minute monologue
that I was happy with, but the TV interviewer said to me at the end that I was
too detailed and they wouldn't be able to use the stuff that I thought was
important. Again, I now realise I have to tailor the message in brief sound bytes.
These interviews were I think lost opportunities and I can write them off to experience. The newspaper interview went very well, I am familiar with print and was able to
speak at length about the booklet. I will be very interested with the outcome of
this interview.
Lidia also got me to come to NorthEastern Illinois University and chat with 2 of her co-workers of Irish
heritage. This went very well and I left them both with a booklet. I also go to chat
with another of her co-workers, this time of Polish heritage, Czeslawa, and this went
very well. I also left her with a booklet. Virtually all of them asked where they might be
able to buy the booklet. I said we are trying to arrange pay pal after the booklet launching
in April.
