This month we mark the 1 year anniversary of winning MKR (My Kitchen Rules). So much has happened since then, but it’s still such a vivid memory… especially all the tears! Congratulations to Jenn and Leigh for their win, and to Nic and Rocco for being such worthy contenders.
In the last year, our food careers have really taken off. We’re now completely and utterly knee deep in the food industry, opening our own commercial kitchen in Sydney which we run with true passion (sometimes a la Gordon Ramsay!). We’ve had the pleasure of catering for weddings, cocktail parties, corporate events and product launches, private degustation dinners and everything in between. It’s been harder work than we ever imagined, but with every burn, cut, scar and 16 hour day on our feet we count our blessings every day. We’re in it for the long haul… and loving it! So thank you, thank you, thank you to all our supporters. Without you, we would be nothing.
Resident foodies on The Morning Show We’re proud to announce that we now have a permanent gig on Channel 7’s The Morning Show with Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies. Each week, we show off one of our favourite seasonal recipes (and do our best to make Larry eat vegetables). If you’ve missed out, you can play catch ups here: (just scroll down and click on “food”) and check out our recipes and photos uploaded weekly to

Mmmmmm new recipes! Missed out on new recipes in April? Here they are! White Hot Winter Chocolate with chestnuts Fig and pistachio pudding with ginger syrup Pearl cous cous salad with sheep’s feta and pomegranate Hot cross bun and butter puddings with maple glaze Crisp iceberg, white anchovy, quails egg and hazelnut salad
Travel, travel and more travel We started off in Armidale, in northern NSW where we catered for a grand old country party and got to meet the Howe family and their 120 show chickens! Aside from almost dying in a lightning storm on the way up, we had a wonderful time and dined on lovely local produce at the amazing Neram restaurant.
Mid month we spent some time in Griffith for La Festa and soaked up the Italian-Australian culture and an extraordinary community spirit. Our cooking demonstrations were a huge success and the people of Griffith are true foodies – and why wouldn’t you be with so much amazing produce on your doorstep? And a big thank you to Dolce Dolce restaurant and pasticceria for making sure our bellies were full all week!
Last weekend we were in Adelaide for Tasting Austraila. It was a great honour to be involved alongside an absolute swag of celeb chefs (Pete Evans, George Calombaris, Guy Grossi, Maggie Beer, Matt Moran, Stephanie Alexander, Adam Swanson and waaaaaay too many to mention here) and we even got to meet some of our UK heroes, Mark Hix, Matthew Fort and the delightful Rachel Allen. Together, we cooked with local kids in the San Remo/Miele “Kids in the Kitchen” and hopefully inspired the next generation of foodies. Adelaide had some amazing food… the Central Markets are hands down the best markets in the country and our first ever sample of Murray Yabbies was sensational!
