Recital fortepianowy polskiego pianisty Szczepana Kończala odbędzie się w sobotę 23 czerwca o godz. 19.30 w sali recepcyjnej Konsulatu RP. Wstęp wolny. Osoby zainteresowane proszone są o wcześniejsze zarezerwowanie miejsc siedzących oraz o nieco wcześniejsze przybycie – rezerwacja miejsc straci ważność w momencie rozpoczęcia koncertu, kiedy to wpuścimy na salę osoby oczekujące, niezależnie od tego, czy dokonały wcześniej rezerwacji, czy nie.

Szczepan Kończal was born in 1985 in Katowice. In 2009 he graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice, in Prof. Józef Stompla’s class, with the highest distinction and a “Primus Inter Pares” award.
Kończal has been a prize winner in many prestigious international piano competitions: in Tbilisi (III Prize in 2009), Pretoria (VI Prize in 2008), Lisbon – Vianny da Motty (V Prize and a special award in 2007), Milan (I prize and special award in 2010), Laurignano (I Prize in 2011), Francati (I Prize in 2012), Timiszoara (I Prize in 2011), Campillos (III Prize in 2009), Oslo (II Prize and two special awards in 2008) and Takasaki (II Prize in 2001). He was finalist in the Tallin competition (2006) and semi-finalist in the Chopin Piano Competition (2005). He was also a laureate of three editions of the National Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
Kończal has performed at Chopin festivals in Duszniki, Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk, Rubinstein’s Festival in Łódź and at festivals in Kuressaare (Estonia), Oeiras (Portugal), Milan, Montecatini Terme, Folgaria and San Gulio (Italy), Istanbul (Turkey) and Tbilisi (Georgia).
He has performed with Sinfonia Varsovia, Estonian National Symphonic Orchestra and Orquestra Gulbenkian.
Szczepan Kończal has performed in various European countries, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Canada and South Africa. In June 2012 he will participate in the Kerikeri International Piano Competition in New Zealand.
Kończal has perfected his art during master classes with such excellent artists as: Dan Thai Son, Peter Donohoe, Wiktor Mierżanow, Bernard Ringeissen, Lee Kum Sing, John Perry, Andrzej Jasiński, Krzysztof Jabłoński and Krystian Zimerman.
He has received the Polish Ministry of Culture scholarship six times and is a laureate of the scholarship programme “Młoda Polska.” He has also received the Polish Prime Minister’s scholarship, Kołłątaj’s Foundation scholarship and the National Foundation for Children scholarship.
