Roy is OK after the Sandy hurricane |
Being an organiser of Kosciuszko Festival whose special guest is to be a pianist, musician, composer Roy Eaton, I was worried about his fate as he lives in New York and teaches at the Manhattan School of Music. So I have written an email to him requesting to hear "good news only". And it was good news. Roy responded promptly: "Yes we came through without incident. We are very fortunate." Thanks Roy, God bless. Its just to remind our readers that Roy will perform at K'Ozzie Fest 2013 in Jindabyne on Saturday 23rd of February 2013. Some of you may prefer to listen to his Chopin in Canberra during Multicultural National Festival on Saturday 9th of February 2013.
Meanwhile watch the video which was produced for Roy's induction to the Advertising Hall of Fame in 2010
Upon induction into the Advertising Hall of Fame, each honoree receives a "Golden Ladder" trophy signifying membership in the Advertising Hall of Fame. This trophy, designed by the late Bill Bernbach, carries an inscription created by the late Tom Dillon, both of whom are members of the Hall of Fame.
The inscription, inspired by a quote from Sir Isaac Newton, reads:
If we can see further, it is because we stand on the rungs of a ladder built by those who came before us.
