I would like to draw your attention to a fundraising recital being put on by the ANU School of Music and the the 2nd Australian International Chopin Piano Competition Artistic Director, Maciej Pawela. The recital is this Thursday 1 May at 6:30pm at the Llewellyn Hall Stage at the ANU School of Music.
The recital features performances of Chopin by Maciej Pawela, a performance by the winner of the composition prize from the first edition of the competition in 2011, Anthony Bozicevic, as well as performances by some very familiar faces in the Canberra music scene, including David Pereira, Professor Peter Tregear and Christine Logan. They will be joined by Virgina Taylor and Jelena Mamic, and the program will include works by Chopin, Shostakovich, Saint-Saëns, Lutosławski, Górecki, Maciejewski and more.
