Wojtek Wiśniewski's final doctoral recital

You are invited to the final doctoral recital of award-winning Polish-Australian concert pianist Wojciech Wisniewski who will perform Modest Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition (1831-1889) & Maurice Ravel Gaspard de la nuit ( 1875-1937). Date: Tuesday, 3 June, 2014. Time: 6pm. Venue: Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Recital Hall East, Macquarie Street. Sydney. Free Entry.

Wojciech Wisniewski has a prolific career as a pianist and has performed extensively around Australia and Europe. For further information please go to his website www.concertpianist.com.au Wojciech Wisniewski was born in 1981 in Nowa Sól in Poland, where he started playing the piano at the age of seven. He then studied with dr. Krystyna Wójcik in M. Karlowicz Highschool of Music in Poznan. In 2004 he graduated from F. Chopin Academy of Music (Master of Art, Warsaw, Poland), studying with prof. Bronislawa Kawalla, ad. Katarzyna Jankowska and ad. Edward Wolanin.

He obtained Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours (2007) at The Australian Institute of Music studying with Phillip Shovk. At present he is a student of Natalia Sheludiakova, at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (DMA).

Wojciech Wisniewski has scored numerous successes at music competitions in Poland (Nowa Sol, Second prize 1992; Konin, Distinction 1996; Plock, Third prize Plock; Szafarnia, Special prize 1998; Lodz, First prize 1998). He was selected out of 240 competitors to participate in 2008 Sydney International Piano Competition.

Since his arrival in Australia he performed widely around the country (Sydney, Melbourne, Darwin, Cairns, Cooktown, Yungaburra, Canberra and many others). In February and May 2009 Wojciech performed recitals in New Zealand, invited by prof. Jack Richards.

On the 28th of June 2009 Wojciech performed F. Chopin Piano Concerto No 1 in e minor op.11 with Balmain Sinfonia.
