The Friends of Chopin Australia are proud to partner with Universal Music Australia to help promote the debut solo album of the winner of the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, Seong-Jin Cho from Korea. The album, from Deutsche Grammophon, marks the first collaboration between DG and the National Institute of Fryderyk Chopin, and contains performances of Chopin from Seong-Jin’s programme in the competition.
I was in Warsaw for the Competition and heard this remarkable young pianist and his beautiful interpretations of Chopin. His performance with the Warsaw Philharmonic of Chopin’s Concerto in E minor Op 11 was an incredible display of virtuosity, sensitivity and musicianship.
