The art of Elizabeth Krajewski
Gwynneville, 20-21 February 2016

You are kindly invited to the exhibition "The Art of Elizabeth Krajewski" to be held at Polish Association Hall, 143 Gipps Rd., Gwynneville on Sat 20 Feb & Sunday 21 Feb 2016. Time: 10 am to 4 pm. Official Opening Sat. at 12 noon. Elizabeth Krajewski (Elzbieta Krajewski) is a rare phenomenon, as an artist she does not fit any stereotypes. Although she started painting in the late 1970’s when still living in the beautiful city of Szczecin, Poland, her passion for art started dominate her life some years later, here in Australia.

The turning point was her life saving heart operation in 2009. The post-hospital time was very trying and even depressing. Then, suprisingly, painting appeared to be the best medicine. Whilst standing for hours at her easel she became oblivious to the ticking of her new metallic valves.

In 2010 Elizabeth enrolled for her first art course and met Faith Cunningham , who became her tu- tor for the next three semesters. Then, there was a period of abstract painting with Keith Ruther- ford and traditional painting with Ellen Wetherall.

For the past three years Elizabeth has been under the wings of Wollongong’s modern impressionist John Kennedy and stays with the“Thursday’s Painters” group. To date, Elizabeth has exhibited at the Seaside Art Festival Thirroul, Wollongong Art Gallery, Kiama Art Exhibition. She is a member of the Kiama Art Society, Shellharbour Art Society, ICAN Wollon- gong.

Today’s Elizabeth solo exhibition at the Polish Hall is for the benefit of the Polish Museum, which will be open on 21st of May, 2016.
