The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland is pleased to announce its latest community initiative ‘Polish Christmas at Darling Harbour’, which will take place on Sunday, 18th December 2005 at Darling Harbour, Sydney.
This is the largest and the most prestigious cultural event organised annually by the Polish Community in New South Wales.
“Polish Christmas” proved to be very successful in recent years, attracting imposing audiences of more than 10,000 spectators to the heart of Sydney.
This year’s event is planned to be even greater in scale. Our intention of this year’s event is to bring Poland closer to Sydneysiders and tourists.
The arts and crafts, jewellery, sounds and colours, action, dance and cuisine of Poland’s best traditions are not to be missed.
The classic 17th century fencing show will be performed in the best of Polish chivalry tradition. All this to be enriched by the sound of Polish folk music (e.g. Polish highlanders’ songs), contemporary music and Christmas carols.
‘Polish Christmas at Darling Harbour 2005’ will be broadcast live by the Polish Program of Radio SBS.
