| We would like to call upon the Australian Multicultural Community Services Committee to reinstate “Millennium House” to the Polish Association of Kingsville and Ladies Auxiliary (The Association). The Association was the original owner of the property at 296 – 298 Nicholson Street, Seddon, as well as the manager of the collected funds and donations to The Association for the maintenance of the estate.
We strongly believe that the transfer of this estate to an organization, which is not uniquely Polish, and which is not managed in accordance with the wishes and intentions of the initial founders, donors, subscribers, and the members of the “Millennium House", is harmful for the whole Polish community in Melbourne.
There was no consultation regarding the transfer of this property with any members of the Polish community who are committed to seeing this place managed and maintained so that it can be used by their compatriots. The profile of the use of the property by AMCS is not as initially intended by the founders, subscribers, donors and members of the “Millennium House”.
