Edwin Kim, winner 3rd Australian International Chopin Piano Competition 2017 (Canberra, Australia) giving a recital at Chopin's birthplace in Zelazowa Wola (Poland) at the invitation of the National Institute of Fryderyk Chopin as part of his first prize package.

Edwin Kim, our first prize winner from 3AICPC17, was invited to Poland by the National Institute of Fryderyk Chopin (NIFC) to perform at Zelazowa Wola, Chopin's birthplace, and to participate in Chopin masterclasses as part of his prize package as winner of our competition. He gave two wonderful recitals at Zelazowa Wola in the same day and received a standing ovation, something of a rare occurrence for Zelazowa Wola concerts. He also successfully took part in three Masterclasses held by the NIFC at Radziejowice, two with the distinguished Nikolai Demidenko (who is on the jury of the first International Chopin Competition on period instruments), and one with the esteemed Akiko Ebi, who was on the jury of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2015. While in Warsaw, Edwin also impressed members of the Ludwig van Beethoven Association, and met with Elżbieta Penderecki, wife of Poland's most distinquished living composer, Krzysztof Penderecki.
