A day earlier Polish Press Agency published an article about a 13 m long banner unfurled in Welaregang expressing Australia's gratitude for Polish donation to help rehabilitate Kosciuszko National Park after devastating bush fires in 2019/2020. It was mentioned tha banner was unfurled in the presence of the Polish Ambassador Michał Kołodziejski during celebrations commemorating 181st anniversary of Strzelecki's trek to Mt Kosciuszko.

And on March 17th another article appeared in Tumbarumba Times, page 6, titled "Trek to Kosciuszko remembered with unveiling of plaque".
