Neil Angus MP, State Government Motion mandating COVID-19 vaccination for State MPs. On 14 October, 2021, I spoke in the Legislative Assembly of the Parliament of Victoria against the Victorian Premier’s plan to impose his will – mandating that all MPs produce evidence that they are vaccinated or effectively be banned from Parliament.

For me this is an issue of conscience. I am not against vaccination – I am for freedom. I stand against Daniel Andrews who once more seeks to impose his will on all those around him. I stand for all the people who, whether through necessity or free choice, are not receiving this vaccination. I stand for the many thousands of Victorians who are about to lose their jobs as a result of exercising their conscience and their free choice. I stand for the people who have been coerced into being vaccinated. I stand for the many faith communities who are facing the issue of having to turn people away from their services and facilities.
This above all is the hallmark of Daniel Andrews and his Labor Government. He is a politician who divides, excludes, and punishes. This is not leadership. This is bullying and I have had enough. Daniel Andrews position stands starkly against the words of the Prime Minister who has made his views clear – quote; “It will not be compulsory to have the vaccine. The Government is clear that vaccination is a personal choice."
