Mother Nature provided The Polish School of Sydney on its second mushroom picking picnic with beautiful weather and surroundings.

As the groups of picnickers arrived by car and bus to gather in the Belanglo State Forest, it became a place of activity with parents setting up for lunch and the children all eagerly awaiting to go yabby catching in the small dam.

With the beautiful warm weather also came the lack of autumn rain, so only a few enthusiastic mushroom gatherers managed to find mushrooms. Unfortunately it was a bit early this year for mushrooms. However the children had more success catching yabbies.

The winner for the biggest mushroom was Jozef M. and winner for the biggest yabby was Olivia J.

Lunch was organised by the Committee with a tasty Polish sausage on a roll followed by a delicious Polish donut. None of the 110 people who came together for a fun day, was disappointed with the lack of mushrooms.
