invitation to Special Classical Music Recital by Chris Malek

Kosciuszko Heritage Inc.& The Man From Snowy River Museum, Corryong invite to Strzelecki Exhibition (this event is part of Royal Historical Society of Victoria History Month) and to Special Classical Music Recital by Chris Malek(Free Admission).As a singular treat for those attending the above Exhibition there will be a special Piano Recital at the Hall by Christopher Malek at 2 pm Friday the 7th of October. Chris is one of the finest international concert pianists of his generation currently residing in Sydney, Australia. Thanks to poetic quality of his interpretation and extraordinary virtuosity, he is best known for performances of music of the romantic period, especially Chopin where he continues the grand tradition of the Golden Age of piano. Christopher graduated with highest distinction for extraordinary artistic achievements from a special talents music high school in Warsaw, Poland.

He continued his studies at Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Australian Institute of Music in Sydney and Vancouver Academy of Music.

A top prize winner at many competitions, he won his first national contest at an early age of 10, which was followed by his debut with an orchestra. He received First Prize and Gold Medal at the Chopin Competition in Australia, First Prize at the International Competition in Poland, Second Prize at the International Chopin Competition in Europe, to name a few.

Since his early successes Chris continues to travel and perform around the world. Music has taken him to over thirty countries in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. He made a number of archive recordings for radio and television, released CDs and DVDs and also played the title role of Frederic Chopin in a film about the composer. In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded many government awards, most notably a Distinguished Talent Permanent Residency of Australia.
