Little story about 7th of May
HFS Open Day was a Hit
A VIDEO by Eugene Kedziora.8 minutes of joyful watching

Alrighty then, let me tell you a little story about May 7th, 2023. It was a day dedicated to showing off the services provided by a care home for the elderly called HFS. But wait, don't be fooled, it's not just care for the oldies! All the fun and games were scheduled from 11am to 6pm, and even though the weather was a bit all over the place, with rain and sunshine playing hide and seek, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits. The day was an absolute banger, even with the occasional shower, and when the sun did manage to break through the clouds, it gave us a sweet, sweet reflection on those slick roads.

I stroll through the entrance gate that leads to the HFS centre, and right off the bat, I can see some banners hanging from the main fence that shout, "We're all about care, living, and education!" We drive past a big board with information on who's who and where, and then we finally enter the premises.

Let me tell you, the organization was top-notch. A dude shows us where to park, and I immediately sprint towards the main tent that's housing all the vendors and buyers seeking refuge from the unpredictable weather. I won't bore you with the details of the fantastic goodies on offer, but just take a look at the visual aid attached. It turns out that having everyone under one roof was a genius idea, especially since the weather was acting up with some serious rain I bolt over to the area where they set up the kiddie play town, and let me tell you, those little rascals were having a blast.

Even with some wet spots here and there, they didn't seem to care. The caretakers were hustling to dry off the toys to keep the little ones from getting soaked to the bone. After a few minutes, I head over to the main trail and make a right turn, bumping into people walking in every which direction.

Maybe it's time to slow down and take a moment to step inside the church. I stroll through the church, it's the perfect spot to slow down and disconnect from the hustle and bustle outside. It's a place that really makes you stop and reflect on life.

After a moment, I'm back in the hustle and bustle of the marketplace, checking out some of the stalls. I decide to take a little stroll through the retirement village and turn left. I pick up the pace a bit, but not in a physical sense - it's more like I'm watching a sped-up video. Soon enough, I turn back around and start observing what's going on and what people are up to. I pause for a moment to take in the beauty of raindrops falling from the roof of the church. But I can't linger for too long because a red train of people is blocking my way. I plan a quick walk through the John Paul II Hall and then continue to the exit of this centre. It's amazing that we are approaching the end of the day and there are still new people coming, curious about what's happening here. Don't be alarmed by the fast driving of cars in this centre, it's just the video clip that's sped up so as not to bore you.

I arrive at the place where you exit the complex, with two directions to choose from. I glance to the left and see that some people have stopped for a moment to buy food, consume it quickly on the go, and continue on their way. It's clear that we are all actively participating in this whirlwind of haste. I turn around and head back to the complex where, as seen in every photographic shot, the church dominates with its unique architectural expression. It should be noted that the some photos could be historical because as you look to the right, the area has become vacant due to the removal of old buildings. We'll see what will be there in the future. At the same time, looking at the photos, one can realize how the complex provides plenty of space for parking, which is very unique in today's times. The tour of this place was shown in 9 minutes. It's practically impossible to capture the entire atmosphere of that day in such a short time. We can only hope that such an event will take place again in the near future.
