The “Spring Flowers and Still Life Paintings exhibition” of Pamela Griffith, one of Australia's most prized artists, is opening on Saturday, 9 September 2006, in the beautiful Kangaroo Valley at Galeria Aniela Fine Art Gallery and Sculpture Park.

Pamela Griffith is one of Australia's most loved painters included in the first 50 most collectable Australian artists (Australian Art Collector, issue 35). Galeria Aniela is proud to showcase some of Pamela Griffith finest work.

Pamela Griffith exquisite arrangements of flowers, fruit and objects seduce the viewer with their technical virtuosity and inherent grace, have timeless quality giving joy. Pamela Griffith work hangs along legendary Australian masters like Olley, Crook, Streeton in many prestigious public, corporate and private collections including:

The National Gallery of Australia; Parliament House of NSW, Parliament House of Australia; The Mitchell Library; The Maritime Museum in Paris; The Vatican Rome; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA; and the Prime Minister's Palace Beijing, China." The exhibition officially opens Saturday, 9 August 2006, around 2pm by Anne Maria Nicholson, the Australian National ABC TV Art Reporter and author of no.1 bestseller “Weeping Waters”. Feel welcome to attend and chat with Pamela Griffith and enjoy drinks with her from 2 to 4 pm. The spring exhibition runs from 9th of September to the 8th of October.

“Spring Flower and Still Life Exhibition” was painted exclusively for Galeria Aniela. Galeria Aniela has 3 hectares of sculpture garden and it is a real pleasure to walk around it at this time of the year. Pamela Griffith said, “the Gallery garden, with the mountain backdrop and beautiful scenery of the Kangaroo Valley, is an inspiration to paint for me."


The opening of the exhibition coincides with the inaugural Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival, which is yet another reason for spending the weekend, beginning the 8th of September, in the Kangaroo Valley.

Kangaroo Valley and the surrounding areas have held a fascination for artist, Pamela Griffith since childhood. She holidayed at a dairy farm as a child and in recent years has spent time painting in the Southern Highlands. It is fitting that she should have an exhibition of her still life paintings and flowers at Galeria Aniela to welcome spring. Galeria Aniela www.galeriaaniela.com.au is a beautiful, purpose built gallery set on 3 hectares of sculpture garden is located on 261 A Mount Scanzi Road Kangaroo Valley.

Pamela Griffith is a recognized and successful artist with a career spanning four decades. Pamela Griffith is also an author and will be in attendance to sign copies of her books. Pamela wrote “Australia, an artist’s journey through the landscape”.

Classically trained at the National Art School, East Sydney, Pamela Griffith completed further art training leading to a Bachelor of Art Education degree at Alexander Mackie, now the College of Fine Art, and University of New South Wales. Her teaching experience included secondary schools, technical and further education, and university. These days she teaches master classes to eager students.

With numerous private, government, and commercial commissions behind her she has had wide exposure of her beautifully detailed and researched works. These works have, on occasion, marked significant events in Australian history such as the bicentennial celebrations, the beatification of Mary MacKillop and the Centenary of Federation. Her work is included in many private, institutional and public collections. Pamela Griffith art-work has been shown in galleries in all states of Australia as well as overseas.
