ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS! As of Saturday, the 25th of November, a new student café is operating in the Polish Club, Ashfield. While dropping by for a chat, coffee and cake, you can also meet new friends.
Wojtek Wawrzyński, the proprietor of the café, warmly invites all young people to meet in the friendly atmosphere of the locale, a place Sydney has been lacking thus far.

“We really wanted to make it for young people, who live in Sydney or hold student visas, as a meeting place,” Wojtek says. “Everyone is welcome. Naturally, all students have friends from different countries, and so the café is open to everyone.”
The preparations for the café have lasted three months. Warm colours – dark reds and browns – were designed specifically with youth in mind.
“The fact is, people should feel comfortable,” says Wojtek. “So that an atmosphere can exist where everyone can freely meet up, sit down and talk.”
One of the newer elements of the décor is a projector, which not only displays graphics, but will also prove useful for a number of cultural and social functions, literary and musical gatherings, as well as the presentation of photographs and films.

An excellent coffee is, of course, served in the café. As well as polish beer, however, a number of alcohols, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks – such as small sandwiches and cakes – may also be purchased.
The café is open between the following hours: Wednesday – Thursday: 5pm – 10pm Friday: 5pm – 10pm Saturday: 11am – 12am Sunday: All day until 10pm
The café is located on the second floor of the Polish Club in Ashfield (73 NORTON STREET, ASHFIELD.) |
