CHEERS! STAN KORNEL & MARIA DUREK | Music, Champagne and Poles – what could be a better combination? On the 17th of May at the Sydney Opera House occurred a meeting with representatives of the Polish community in Sydney. The goal of this meeting was to find out how the Sydney Symphony can work with the Polish media and community organisations to promote the Sydney Symphony’s performances into the Polish community.
Together with the Polish Consul Ryszard Sarkowicz and his wife Anna, those present were, from the Polish School of Randwick – Gosia and Albert Vella, from Polish Program Radio SBS – Anna Sadurska, from Polish Club of Ashfield – Lucian Romanowski and Polish TV Australia – Marek Vit. After the meeting with Sydney Symphony Market Communication Manager Georgia Rivers, Multicultural Marketing Manager Xing Jin and Multicultural Marketing Assistant Natalie Lewandowski, the Polish guests enjoyed a beautiful concert of Rossini’s Stabat Mater.
Sydney Symphony Orchestra has 100 musicians and performs more than 100 concerts in 2007 in the Sydney Opera House or Angel Place City Recital Hall. Maria Durek and Stan Kornel are fantastic Polish musicians who both play violins in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Both Stan and Maria warmly invite the Polish community living in Australia to share with them a concert with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
