The Festival “Polish Homelands” is the continuation of the International Film Festival organised in co-operation with Polonia University in 2004. Moreover, it is mirrored on the Film Seasons (2004 and 2005) organised by Catholic Film Association and Polska-Europa-Polonia Foundation within confines of International Catholic Film and Multimedia Festivals in Niepokalanów.

The organiser of the event is Polonia University in co-operation with Polska-Europa-Polonia Foundation, Polish Education Association and The Worldwide Polonia Heritage Association.

The Festival is open for artists from all around the world who either professionally or amateurishly deal with the matter of Poles and Polish Diaspora. The core aim of the Festival is to present Polish Diaspora in different places abroad, its contacts with Motherland as well as their life lots.

The Festival is to shape patriotic attitudes, document the history of Polish culture, Polish historical experiences, tradition and historical awareness of Poles. It aims at richness of historical output of Polish Diaspora, including the activities for maintaining national identity, cultivating the importance of mother tongue, culture and tradition of their Homeland.

Therefore, all multimedia projects concerning various achievements of Poles abroad and their role in their present homelands are warmly welcomed. Awarded projects will meet with great acceptance in Poland and abroad and they will be popularised through latest mass-media communication means in order to universalise the knowledge of the past.

Last year's Polonia Festival of Multimedia “Polish Homelands 2006”, organised under the Great Auspices of His Excellency Lech Kaczyński, the President of the Republic of Poland and His Excellency Ryszard Kaczorowski, the former President of the Republic of Poland, was crowned with great success. The Festival took place in May 2006 in John Paul II Collection Museum in Warsaw, just before Pope Benedict XVI visited Poland. Subsequent projections of the Festival – organised in co-operation with Polonia University, Polska-Europa-Polonia Foundation and The Worldwide Polonia Heritage Association – took place in Częstochowa and accompanied the International Congress in New Millennium – “Polonia Foundations Abroad”.
