"Mound & Mt Kosciuszko Fest" - Day One

PROGRAMME FOR SATURDAY 19 APRIL 2008

* Meet at the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Visitors Centre, Kosciuszko Road, Jindabyne

9.00am Documentary Film presented by Polish Guests (actors) - Monika and Norbert Oksza-Strzelecki In the footsteps of Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki, Jindabyne Cinema (50min)

10.00am Official Opening of the Mound & Mt Kosciuszko Festival in the courtyard of the Sublime Café of the NPWS Visitors Centre - followed by complimentary morning tea and Polish entertainment; * Announcement of Prize Winners for the Festival Photographic Competition by Ray Killen
* Exhibition of the best photographic entries
* Exhibition of photographs from the Film In the Footsteps of Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki

11.00am Documentary Biographical Film about the life of General Tadeusz Kosciuszko, in Polish with English sub-titles, Jindabyne Cinema (60min)

Activities move on to the Snowy Shire Council's "Memorial Hall” (only 150m away)

12.00 noon BBQ presented by Jindabyne Scouts

1.00pm - 3.00pm Concert Kosciuszko - Hero of Many Nations and People

A variety show of Dance and Music featuring local and interstate music and dance Ensembles, Vocal Artists, highlighting Polish, Australian and American themes, the Snowy Mountains and mountain culture generally, Australian Exploration and Immigration, the Snowy Hydro Scheme, Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki and Polish Engineer Stanislaw Blum.

5.00pm Historical Meeting of ALL Strzeleckis at the Strzelecki Monument, Banjo Paterson Park over the Jindabyne Lake (opposite Memorial Hall) - Historical Photo session Two Hemispheres – One Family

7.00pm Polish–Aussie Get Together - venue to be advised (possibly Kookaburra Motel)

The Mound & Mt Kosciuszko Festival will be filmed by TV Polonia.
