Join us for Mound & Mt Kosciuszko Festival 18-20 April 2008
Festival program updated on March 12th

Friday, 18 April 2008, Polonaise Walk to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, meet at summit at 12 noon.
Group A from Thredbo meets at Chairlift at 9,30 (leader Ursula Lang). Group B from Charlottes Pass will assemble at 8,30 am for those going via Seamans Hut (leader Tony Lang). Group C going via Blue Lakes leaves from Charlottes Pass at 8 am (leader Andrzej Kucyper). * 4 pm youth and seniors meeting at Charlottes Pass to sing together (song books will be available); photos on the LookOut. * 6 pm chit-chat, rehearsals & Information Point, Memorial Hall, Jindabyne.

Saturday 19 April 2008
10am Official Festival Opening with Aboriginal Welcome in front of the Sublime Cafe, National Parks and Wildlife Visitor's Centre, Jindabyne.
Announcement of winners of the Photographic Competition "The Young and The Talented" and display of work of finalists. Mini-concert featuring Paul Mackay with his song “Ancient Dreaming”; refreshments.
9am Screening of film "In the footsteps of Strzelecki”, Jindabyne Cinemas and associated exhibition of images.
11am Screening of biographical film about General Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Jindabyne Cinemas.
12noon BBQ lunch at the Memorial Hall.
2 - 4.30pm Variety Concert "Kosciuszko, Hero of Many People and Nations", Memorial Hall, Jindabyne. Some songs of the finalists will be performed.
5pm Historical Meeting of all Strzeleckis at the Statue of Paul Edmund Strzelecki, Banjo Patterson Park, Jindabyne. 7pm Polish-Aussie and Community Get Together – starting point: Memorial Hall.

Sunday, 20th April 2008
10am Celebration of Mass at St Patrick's Church, Cooma.
All day festivities as from 8 am. Community Festival and Rotary Market Day in Centennial Park, Cooma, along Sharp Street, with non-stop variety entertainment by local and interstate artists, Polish food stalls.
12 noon - Announcement of the results of the Song-writing and Poetry Competitions.
Market Day stalls: Polish & Continental sausages brought from Adelaide by Stan Ciechanowicz, “National Sausage King 2008”; ) Polish potato pancakes (the Pazdzior van from Sydney), Polish t-shirts & “polonica” (from Melbourne), famous Polish ambers (from Sydney).

A new photographic competition for the best & the cutest photo of the festival will be announced – the awarded photos will be displayed in 2009.

All events will be filmed by Puma Film for Telewizja Polonia, Poland.

A documentary films about Kosciuszko & Strzelecki will be screened in Cooma at Snowy Hydro Educational Centre on 18th, 19th & 20th April at 10 am and 3 pm. Entry by Gold Coin Donation. It goes to Cooma Oncology.
