Calling All Members of Warszawska Syrenka
A re-Union in Plumpton on 20th September 2008

During the years 1973 to 1981 (approximately), choreographer Jozef Walczak taught a Polish Dance Ensemble in Bankstown called "Warszawska Syrenka". A Re-union of all members of the Ensemble (over 100) is being organized. The event will be held at the Polonia Soccer Club in Bungalow Road, Plumpton, on Saturday evening, 20 September, 2008.

As many of the X-members are keen to perform just ONE MORE TIME, a series of 5-6 rehearsals will be held throughout July/August for a Polonaise and one other dance (maybe Goralski!) for those of us suitably fit and energetic.

An organizing committee has been meeting since March (first Friday of the month) and if you would like to help with the organizing, come along to the next meeting. Everyone is welcome, but be prepared to be given a job to do!

Need more information? Ring Krysia Nitarska-Kwasniewski on 9675 6941, or Helen Dybala on 4754 2093 or 0448 884 381, or Urszula Lang (Wozniczka) on 0418 265 271.

Please also note that this event is the only event at which you will see detailed footage of Warsawska Syrenka dancing Noc Swietojanska at the Sydney Opera House in 1974. (Preserved thankfully in Peter Dunmore's mother's cupboard and now on DVD!) Other performance and rehearsal footage will be screened as well. So dig out all those photos and memorabilia, and please SPREAD THE WORD!
