Sir Strzelecki in the Illawarra
and early Polish pioneers of Wollongong

Migration Heritage Project, MHP presents "Mystery surrounding the visit to the Illawarra in 1839-40 by Count Paul Edmund de Strzelecki, Polish Scientist and Explorer & Early Polish Pioneers of Wollongong featuring Ignacy Zlotkowski and John Radecki".

A presentation by Michael Organ, Zofia Laba and Barbara Mazur in conjuntion with the Migration Heritage Project Annual Meeting, Thursday 6th November, 5,30 pm, Level 9 Conference Room, Wollongong City Council Administration Building, Burelli St., Wollongong.

The Migration Heritage Project would like to invite you to the 2008 Annual General Meeting Presentation once again focussing on the contribution of migrants to the Illawarra. The presentations will be held prior to the business of the Annual General Meeting commencing.

Michael Organ is a local historian and former Federal member for Cunningham. He works as an archivist at the University of Wollongong. Zofia Laba and Barbara Mazur are two local historians. They will present a hidden treasure in the heart of Wollongong - John Radecki's stain glass window of "Good Samaritan" - a gift of rememberance and gratitude to William and Elizabeth James for helping a Polish migrant family in 1882.
