Unwind this Spring with the Lane Cove Concert Bands and the Wesley Institute Choir. Sunday the 20th of September 2009 at 2,30 pm St Stephens Church. Corner of Sydney Street and Mowbray Rd, Willoughby. Afternoon tea provided. Cost: $10, $5 concession.
And a word from Puls Polonii. Do you remember the Sydney Windjammers, the band that played Kosciuszko - the three compositions by Tadeusz Kosciuszko - on the summit of Mt Kosciuszko in February 2007?
One of the players in this amateur band was Graham Wood (a Macquarie Uni Professor) who now plays with the Lane Cove Concert Band. And what is he doing? Convincing the Lane Cove Band to play... Kosciuszko! When they are going to be ready remains to be seen, but knowing Graham, it's going to be pretty soon.
Just to remind you: the Sydney Windjammers was the very first band in Australia to include the 3 Kosciuszko pieces into its own repertoire and also play them right on the summit of Mt Kosciuszko!
Come on, listen to the rehearsal of Kosciuszko music!
