"Polish death camp" apology received by dr Waldemar Niemotko |
The Australian International Research Institute Inc. has acknowledged an apology as below. "Dear Waldemar. Thanks for your email. Let me assure you the reference to 'the Polish death camp of Auschwitz' was not meant to cause offence or rewrite history in any way. The writer merely meant that the camp was situated in Poland. Both the writer and I understand that Poland was occupied by Germany at the time and that the camp was run by the German Nazis. In hindsight it's obvious that we shouldn't have refered to it as a Polish death camp and I regret that this was not picked up before publication. I also reget any offence that was caused. Regards, Greg Hassall Editor, The Guide" readerlink@mail.fairfax.com.au
