New dances, new songs, performances, fundraisers, experiences and memories to last a life-time: the Podhale End Of Year Luncheon and Concert was held on Sunday, November 29, and was a celebration of the Ensemble's first 10 months.
A crowd of over 200 guests, families, friends of Podhale and performers filled the White Eagle Hall in Cabramatta. Our wonderful parents prepared a delightful, warm lunch and served fruit, ice-cream with jelly, cakes and coffee/tea throughout the afternoon.
The artistic program consisted of 12 dance items: three dances by the Junior Group, three dances by the Middle Group and six dances by the Senior Group. The Ensemble also presented the traditional Goralskie Wesele and our talented members Alicja Polak and Angelica Machowicz sang lovely Polish songs, which inspired our smallest guests to hop on the dance floor and dance!
The concert was also a perfect opportunity to officially open the Podhale website; we invite everyone to visit us at www.podhale.org.au.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this special function, and thank you to our amazing Podhale families and friends for working so hard to make the day a success.
On Sunday, December 6, we were very happy to perform at the Polish Christmas in Darling Harbour Festival. It was a beautiful summer’s day and it was great to see so many people celebrating Polish culture.
And now, much like many dance groups from all around Australia and New Zealand, our Senior Group is continuing rehearsals in preparation for Pol-Art Adelaide, which we are very excited to be attending.
Podhale would like to sincerely thank all individuals, organisations and private entities who have supported and continue to support “Podhale” through volunteer work, donations and words of encouragement. And with Christmas just around the corner, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year.
