invocation
Don’t dismount from your horse, General Kosciuszko! - the battle goes on for the future of the world, - in the glow and the ashes tomorrow is born - as many innocent victims lie on the bier
and in this long birth dripping with blood Mother in pain is singing restless a song of the suffering of men searching for God in different temples
Stay on your horse, my General, and order soon the charge for a Light – For how can a grain sprout on a rock ? Or in the deserts of hearts, if it has died ?
When brothers wander blinded by wind And, mercilessely, kill their brothers - - who will remove the thorns from your hurts ? - who will revive the dead canticle of others ?
Don’t dismount, General of the invaded - - the struggle goes on for freedom, laws and truth! - You were part of that ignoring all honours - other than hardship, sorrow and wounds.
