Condolence Book with be open for signature
at the Polish Consulate in Sydney
The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland with the deepest regret and sorrow informs that on the 10th of April 2010 one of the greatest tragedies in the history of Poland occurred. H.E. President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński, Spouse of the President Maria Kaczyńska, representatives of the country’s highest authorities, high-level military and civilian leaders, official delegation and all the crew lost their lives in a tragic airplane crash near Smolensk, while on their way to the ceremonies commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Katyń Massacre.

Due to this air crash tragedy the duties of the Head of State have been temporarily assumed by the Speaker of the Sejm Bronisław Komorowski who has declared National Mourning in Poland from April 10th to April 16th, 2010. The Book of Condolence will be open for signature at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, 10 Trelawney Street, Woollahra, NSW 2025, from Monday April 12th to Friday April 16th from 10 am to 4 pm.
