Poland is a centuries-old European treasure with a rich and diversified culture, un-spoilt nature and monuments from a glorious past. This talk, and upcoming international tour, will take you beyond the usual tourist locations and introduce you to the heart of Polish culture. Our Baltic experience will focus on three cities: Vilnius in Lithuania, a sophisticated city that has preserved an impressive collection of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and classical buildings and its medieval layout; Riga in Latvia, known as the capital of Art Nouveau architecture;Tallinn in Estonia, with its dramatic medieval wall that encircles restored houses from the same period as well as 19th-century houses, a Tsarist palace and modern tower blocks and finish in Helsinki.

Join Barbara Konkolowicz for this illustrated lecture that gives a personal insight into the art, culture and history of Poland and shows the highlights of the Baltic countries.
