The famous Cracow Lajkonik (a lifesize papier mache figurine) wants to come to the "Lajkonik Ball" on 22 May 2010, because he is going to a new home. He currently lives on the Sunshine Coast with a lovely family called the Janiszewskis. He has been kindly donated to the Polish Song and Dance Ensemble “Lajkonik” in Sydney, on the occasion of the 20-Year Anniversary Celebration, but he has no way to get to Sydney before the ball.
The Courier Companies have quoted too much to transport him down, so he is hoping that someone in the Polish Community might assist?
Do you know of anyone going by car or truck to the Sunshine Coast who could give Lajkonik a lift? He is 1.5m long and 1m high and weighs 10 kg.
He needs to get to Sydney before the ball on 22 May 2010. If you can help, please ring Urszula Lang on 0418 265 271.
