The Polish Museum of America
organises Art Deco themed Trip to Poland

Forbes Magazine (Forbes.com) , recently listed 15 Cheap Countries to Visit in The Recession and Poland ranked Number 3. Those who have gone to Poland know that cheap means inexpensive, not second rate. The country’s natural beauty and varied terrain are a must to see. Did you know that in addition to its historic medieval, baroque and classical architecture, the moderne style was the official national style in Poland during the inter-war period (1920-1939)?

Those who have thought about going to Poland, but keep putting the trip off should realize that the dollar is not going to get stronger soon and in 2011, Poland may enter the EuroZone, and as in all other countries, prices will rise upwards of 20%. In 2012 the Poles and the Ukrainians are hosting the Euro Cup, so prices will again be raised to take advantage of the throngs of football (soccer) fans. So there are reasons to do this trip this year.

The PMA is proud to sponsor its specialty tour “Art Deco Poland “ (Sept. 19 through Oct 2), highlighting 20’s and 30’s Art and Architecture in eight cities. In addition to Krakow and Warsaw, we will highlight the port city of Gdynia (begun in 1926), Katowice, Bielsko-Biala, Zamosc (a 17th century planned city and UNESCO Heritage site) and Stalowa Wola (begun in 1937 as a planned industrial center).

We will present lectures by guest speakers on the Art Deco movement in Poland and feature behind the scenes tours in several museums. Please come on this fabulous tour!

The land-based cost of this specialty tour is $1,460 per person, double occupancy (based on a minimum of 20 in the tour) with a single supplement of $600. This cost includes hotel, bus transportation, a train trip, breakfast daily and five dinners, guided sightseeing and entrance fees to museums and sites on the itinerary .

Please feel free to write, phone or e-mail Jan M. Lorys. Director of the PMA if you have any questions.
