I have just returned from the trip to Poland and Paris, where I was music host while we followed in Chopin's footsteps. We visited Zelazova Wola, where he was born, spent some time in Warsaw, and also went to Nohant, where he and Georges Sand spent many Summers. I came back with a much greater understanding and affection for Poland and its people, it was friendly and welcoming, yet the Poles had such an admirable resolve about them, a sense of pride in their history and culture.
I am doing a talk on Chopin this Saturday afternoon at Waterbrook Retirement village, 6 Ulonga Avenue, Greenwich, 2-4pm. Entry is free, plus an afternoon tea provided after. I know it's too late to advertise, but perhaps there's someone in your office who'd like to come along, they'd be most welcome.
