The book HENIEK was presented to Mr Deepak Vohra, the Indian Ambassador to Poland and Lithuania, at the 15th Congress of Poles in India 1942-48, in Będlewo, near Poznan in Poland on the 15th August 2010, at the opening of the conference by Convenor, Mr Andrzej Chendynski. Author Anna Bonshek presented HENIEK, the story of Australian Henry Bonshek as a boy - the story of her father's life in India during WWII to Mr Vohra.
Mr Vohra was very appreciative and commented that he attended (much later) the same school (St Mary's in Mt Abu, Rajasthan) as Mr Bonshek had attended when he was a youngster all those years ago. Mr Vohra also said that the culture of Poland had enriched Indian culture through the presence of the young Polish orphans during the war years.
