| Transfiguration: Paintings from Kosciuszko Alpine Region. Solo painting exhibition by Eve Sawa.The Quenbeyan Performing Arts Centre 12 - 23 October.
Eve Sawa will be exhibiting paintings based on Australia's alpine region surrounding Mt Kosciuszko. The focus of Eve's work are ecological issues and to also bring a personal experience of the landscape to her paintings. This is informed by her extensive time spent bushwalking in the alpine region.
With thick and richly painted surfaces of oil paint and beeswax she depicts the distant mountain range, yet also the stones and tangled undergrowth beneath one's feet.
The exhibition was opened by environmental scientist Professor Michael Hutchinson, one of Australia's leading researchers on the impacts of climate change on water resources and agriculture.
