We believe that the Canberra audience will be delighted to celebrate the 200th year of Frederick Chopin’s birth
and the Bicentenary of Argentina, with Music of the great Poland composer and the brilliant Argentine
composer Alberto Ginastera, who has earned a place among the greatest composers of the twentieth century.
Marcela Fiorillo will perform a Chopin program including waltzes, a polonaise, nocturne, scherzo and ballade;
as well as the Sonate N. 1 by Alberto Ginastera, which reflects the main characteristics of his music: strong
and powerful rhythms, meditative adagios evoking the desolation of the Pampa landscape with magic,
mysterious sounds resembling the nature of the country.”
