Joyful Wishes and much more

Podhale Performances, Joyful Wishes and an Invitation to Join us in 2011. This year has flown so quickly.... and what a great year it's been! Podhale Polish Folklore Ensemble, now nearly two years old, held its second end of year function at Cabramatta on 28th November 2010 to a crowd of over 200 people. Special guest at the function was Konsul Dominika Mosek from the Polish Consulate in Sydney as well as Krystyna Cyron, President of the Polish Association Cabramatta and of course, Fr. Krzysztof Chwalek.

The hall was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and a tapestry of a ‘Krakowska Szopka’, adding to an already festive atmosphere. Podhale’s Junior, Middle and Senior groups performed nine dances in what was a full artistic program which included dances from the regions of Cieszyn, Kaszuby, Kurpie, Lublin, Krakow, Podhale, Warmia & Mazury and dances of the Lasowiacy people.

The program included presentation of awards to each member of the group to show our appreciation for their hard work during the year, and a delicious celebratory cake. Towards the end came the anticipated visit from Santa to many excited and happy children.

Podhale would like to acknowledge our deep appreciation for all our many supporters who regularly attend our functions, which are aimed at not only fundraising, but to bring the community together and to achieve one of our goals of bringing Polish culture to our young children.

On Sunday, 5th December, we were very happy to perform at the Polish Christmas in Darling Harbour Festival – thank you to the Organising Committee for putting on such a great event!

On Sunday, 12th December, we performed along side our wonderful Sydney-based Ensembles at the celebrations of the Confirmation by his Grace Polish Bishop W. Polak.

Podhale would like to say a sincere thank you to every individual and entity that has contributed to the Ensemble throughout the year.

We extend a gracious thank you to the Polish Association in Cabramatta, The SPK Foundation, The Blum Foundation and The Polish Consulate in Sydney for their support and generosity.

With Christmas just around the corner, we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year.

Z okazji nadchodzących świąt Bożego Narodzenia, składamy wszystkim, najserdeczniejsze życzenia, oraz szczęśliwego nowego roku 2011.

And as the new year draws nearer, we would like to take this opportunity to invite any prospective new members interested in being part of Podhale to contact Daniel (0418 996 671) or Ania (0422 409 908) – it’s a great way to learn, exercise and socialise!
