Dynamism, multifaceted talent, and above all sumptuousness of voice – the Adam Mickiewicz University Chamber Choir of Poland, performing during the Polish Week of Culture at St James’s Church, Sydney – enchanted their assembled listeners, of both Polish and Australian origin.

“Where is everybody?”

Ernestyna was already to be found, alert and awoken, at five a.m. preparing sandwiches in the kitchen. She was astounded by the emptiness of the living room – it seemed no one had yet risen and that the sound of snoring still pervaded the lodg.....  [Więcej]

Music Over the Mountains, Part I - Preparations
By Lukasz Swiatek

Walking long distances, sometimes on their knees, Poles devoutly cross hundreds of kilometers in devotional, yearly pilgrimages. With guitars and violins in hand, and the notes of their songs caressing the breeze, this devotion becomes a journey radiating joy. A similar expedition took place this week – another pilgrimage, after a fashion .....  [Więcej]

Of the wide spheres—an everlasting tone.
And now it tells me, that in worlds unknown,
The names of heroes, burst from clouds concealing,
And changed to harmonies, for ever stealing
Through cloudless blue, and round each sil.....  [Więcej]
