Poland prepares to mark WWII anniversary

Seventy years ago to the day, the German battleship, Schleswig-Holstein, opened fire on a Polish military outpost on the Baltic peninsula.

The first Polish winter expedition to Mt Kosciuszko in the footsteps of Paul Edmund Strzelecki was a success! Film maker Oscar Kantor, along with Stefan Lewandowski and Mariusz Szłapak, made it from Geehi Valley across Swampy Plain River, over Hannels Spur via Mt Townsend to Mt Kosciuszko, and ended their historic trek in Charlotte Pass.

Taser makers to challenge death inquiry

The maker of the electronic stun weapon, Taser, is fighting back against a Canadian inquiry into the death of a Polish immigrant nearly two years ago.

The lawyer for Taser says his firm will try to quash the recommendations that emerged from the inquiry.
