Kujawy at the 2009 Eurofest Festival

On Sunday September 20, 2009, the Kujawy Polish Song and Dance Ensemble performed at the annual Eurofest Festival, which was held at Ararat Reserve in Frenchs Forest. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the atmosphere was very friendly. The official opening speeches were made by the Consul General of Germany and the Honourable Bronwyn Bishop.

The participants in three activities, held last week by the Association and its affiliates, had a lot to say about the weather.

Polanski refuses U.S. extradition

Methane explosion kills 12 miners

Twelve miners have been killed in a methane explosion at the Wujek-Slask coal mine in southern Poland, a spokeswoman for the country's mines authority said.

"Twelve coal miners are dead and 15 are in serious condition," Edyta Tomaszewska said.

U.S. backs away from missile shield plan
